Google announced the latest Panda Update is running.
Google said in a post on Google+ that a “slow rollout” began last week and will continue into this week. Google expects that about 3%-to-5% of search queries will be affected, depending on location.
Google says this update is more precise and will allow more high-quality small and medium-sized sites to rank better.
This is from the Google+ post:
“Based on user (and webmaster!) feedback, we’ve been able to discover a few more signals to help Panda identify low-quality content more precisely. This results in a greater diversity of high-quality small- and medium-sized sites ranking higher, which is nice.”
By the end of this week, you should see an increase in traffic if you were previously hit by Panda and made changes to clean your site up.
Conversely, if you see a drop you know the Panda hit you and you need to deal with the issue. This update comes four months after the previous one.
Does this suggest a new quarterly cycle? Perhaps. Stay on top of your analytics and let us know if you’ve experienced a drop.
